I had a piece of glass go deep through and through my palm. How would i know if there is glass stuck in there.?

Its been 2 weeks since it happened. Everything seems to be healing well but i have a lump that does not hurt when i press it. It showed up about a week ago, a week after the cut. Its in the path of the cut. Could this be because there is a piece of glass stuck below. The doctor felt around and said that everything is fine and if i start to feel any pain to go back. They have not x-rayed it.

I’m not a doctor, and only doctors are really qualified to make assessments of this sort.

BUT, if it helps to ease your mind, lumps and stuff often form around cuts — particularly big nasty ones. It’s usually just pus from fighting off infection. Not a big deal. It’ll just get reabsorbed, and unless it’s painful, there isn’t much reason to worry about it (if it’s just pus).

I’m not saying there is or isn’t a shard of glass in there — just saying that the lump is not entirely unusual, so that by itself shouldn’t worry you.
